SAN ANTONIO, TX – Many people underestimate the positive impact that exercise can have for those with Alpha-1 Antitrypsin Deficiency. At the Mar. 23 Alpha-1 Education Day, Dr. Nasir Sultan Syed of North East Methodist Hospital will be discussing the importance and many advantages of exercise for Alphas and anyone with chronic lung disease.
The Alpha-1 Foundation and Alpha-1 Association are sponsoring this free Alpha-1 Education Day on Saturday, March 23, from 8:30 am to 5 pm. The event will be held at the Sheraton Gunter San Antonio, 205 E. Houston Street, San Antonio, TX 78205.
James Stocks, MD of the University of Texas Health Center at Tyler is presenting on both Alpha-1 lung disease and clinical trial participation, and Alpha-1 and bronchiectasis.
Angela McBride, director of community relations and development, will present an update on the Foundation. Marlene Erven, executive director, will give an update on the Association.
During scheduled breaks, patients have the chance to view exhibitor’s displays. Complimentary breakfast and lunch are included.
