George Washington Bridge Walk aims to raise $50,000 for Alpha-1 research

You are invited to join Alphas, their family and friends from New York, New Jersey and the surrounding areas to team up with the Alpha-1 Foundation and the Mara Center to raise awareness and money for Alpha-1 research programs.

Last year, a record 200-plus walkers attended the walk and raised over $30,000, also a record for the event.

A light breakfast will be served for all participants. The at-your-own-pace walk is just under a mile and a half. Walkers can then turn around and walk back, or they can choose to take a bus back from the terminal right at the end of the bridge. There is also a scenic overlook for those who want to admire the scenery but not walk over the bridge.

A celebratory lunch will be held after the walk for all participants.

Participants can register online here, or fill out the registration form and send it to Lori Tartell at ltartell@chpnet.org or fax to (212) 523-8426.

The registration fee is $25 for all participants 8 and up, and includes a t-shirt, breakfast and lunch. To ensure a t-shirt, be sure to register by April 11.

For more information, contact Lori Tartell, ltartell@chpnet.org, or Joe Reidy, JoeReidy@verizon.net.
